Summer is a probably the easiest season to include fresh, healthy-eating, types of foods into your diet. It also means using what’s in your fridge or fruit bowl and having fun throwing together ingredients to make salads, sarmies, wraps and, of course, the beloved breakfast kick-start or in-between snack, the smoothie. Here is a smoothie recipe that is full of nutritional value, bursts with flavour and colour and is also interchangeable with whatever berries you have in your fridge.
Ingredients ¼ cup milk ½ cup Greek yoghurt 1 chopped beetroot 1 cup of mixed berries 1 handful of mango 1 fresh date (pitted)
Method Blend all ingredients until you reach the desired consistency. * Add extra milk if you want it thinner or extra dates if you would like it sweeter. **Freeze any leftover berries if they are going past their best before date.
