Iced coffee, on the go… or take it slow. Two different ways. Two delicious choices.
Iced coffee – On the go
Ingredients 1 ½ cups high strength brewed coffee ½ cup low fat milk 2 tbsp sugar 1 ½ cups ice cubes, add more if desired.
Method1 In a blender, combine coffee, milk, sugar and ice. Blend for 3 minutes. For a thicker consistency add more ice. Pour into 2 glasses and serve immediately. Tips:1 Add flavoured syrups to change or enhance flavours. Try adding vanilla or hazelnut for a different flavour. 2 Adding a scoop of protein shake makes this a perfect post – gym refreshment. 3 For the weekend, try adding a shot of Kahlua or Frangelico.
Iced coffee – Take it slow
Ingredients 2 ½ cups medium ground coffee 4 cups water, room temperature
Method1 Combine ground coffee and water in a container, stir well, cover and allow to steep for 12 – 24 hours. 2 Strain through cheesecloth and a fine strainer and place in the fridge to cool. 3 Pour over ice and add milk and sugar as desired. Tips1 Instead of using sugar to sweeten ice coffee, try using condensed milk for a sweeter variation. 2 For an extra caffeine boost, freeze brewed coffee in an ice tray and use those instead of plain ice blocks ensuring your ice coffee isn’t getting diluted. 3 For a cool party idea, serve them in consol jars to impress your friends.
