With the opening of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil tonight, impress your friends and try this delicious, quick and easy dinner to enjoy during the opening.
Steak Prego Roll
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 Tbsp (15ml) Harrisa paste
½ tin (200g) whole peeled tomatoes
½ cup (125ml) sunflower oil
1 tsp (5ml) sugar
Juice of half a lemon
1 Tbsp (15ml) hot chilli sauce
Salt and freshly ground pepper
4 Portuguese rolls
4 x 100g steaks, batted out thinly
Place all marinade ingredients into a food processor and blend well.
Remove from blender and season with extra chilli sauce if needed.
Marinade steaks for at least 30 minutes before using.
Heat a pan to hot and sear thinly sliced steaks for about 1 – 2 minutes on each side,
depending on how you done you prefer your steaks.
Place each steak on a Portuguese roll and serve immediately.
