This month Source Food teamed up with SASKO to provide delicious SASKO-inspired canapés for breakfast, lunch and tea at the Pioneer Food Conference for 250 guests. The conference was hosted at the Allée Bleue Wine Estate in Franschhoek.
Our team was up at a very early 04:00am on the day of the event in order to have the first breakfast canapés ready for service at 07:30am. A few of the breakfast canapés included: slow roasted egg and spring onion toast cups, mini flapjack stacks topped with vanilla mascarpone and berries, smoked salmon pâté with confit lemon, crispy capers and dill and vanilla bean scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
The first teatime canapés were served at 10:00am and included smoked paprika and Parmesan cheese straws; we also had a beautiful garden display of cinnamon rolls with creamy glaze.
Afternoon tea was served at 14:45pm, and included some cheesy gougeres filled with mushroom pâté as well as mini carrot cakes topped with cream cheese frosting and crystallised walnuts.
Throughout the course of the day, our Chef, Jonathan, demonstrated a few of our canapés for those who attended the event to show what can be done using the SASKO products. The demonstration included the mini carrot cakes topped with crystallised walnuts and cream cheese frosting.
We created a parting gift for all those that attended the event – a cute little packet of granola bars, branded with the SASKO logo and a red ribbon.
It was a very successful event and a beautiful venue, so our staff didn’t mind waking up bright and early on a Friday morning!
