One source of inspiration is the Donut peach which is also known as a “Saturn peach”. They are an unusual member of the stone fruit family.
A donut peach is a white-fleshed peach with a sweet taste & almond overtones. These are very popular in the States and are, recently, available in SA.
For those who are put off by peaches with furry coat, the skin of the donut peach has little or no fuzz. They are easy to eat with your hands and don’t make a juicy mess all over your face and fingers.
